H&F COMMUNITY RESILIENCE ALLIANCE

NEW H&F COMMUNITY RESILIENCE ALLIANCE WILL ADD VALUE OF THE COMMUNITY SECTOR AND BUSINESSES TO EMERGENCY PLANNING

Hammersmith & Fulham Council in partnership with the Hammersmith & Fulham Volunteer Centre (HFVC) are launching the H&F Community Resilience Alliance, a new initiative which will enable the voluntary and community sector and businesses to provide support in emergencies.

London’s resilience to emergencies is reliant on everyone working together. London’s responders including emergency services and local authorities, play a key role, but so do London’s diverse communities, faith groups, voluntary sector and businesses. Community organisations and businesses can provide knowledge, resources and contacts that could make a real difference at a time of an emergency.

The new H&F Community Resilience Alliance will be engaging with both voluntary sector organisations and businesses to offer them the opportunity to be play a role during times of crisis. Look out for communications in the near future from both the Council and HFVC inviting organisations and businesses to complete a short survey which will detail how they might be able to support in an emergency.

This could including anything from providing space (for people affected and/or storage and sorting of donations), transport, equipment, staff/volunteers, community contacts, languages and specialist skills (e.g. advice).

Organisations and businesses will take part in the H&F Community Resilience Alliance on a purely voluntary basis and the only commitment asked for is specifying how and when they could be contacted if an emergency were to take place.
